11th Florida Company F
Captain G.D. Richardson, Commander
The original 11th Florida Infantry Regiment was formed in the Panhandle of Florida in June 1864, by consolidating the 2nd & 4th regiments.
Most men were recruited in Hendry, Jackson and Bradford counties. The regiment was assigned to Finnegan’s Brigade, Army of Northern Virginia.
The regiment was involved in the siege of Petersburg, Battle of Cold Harbor and the Appomattox campaign.
In 1865 it surrendered 4 officers and 19 men.
It was reorganized in June 2010 as Company F 11th Florida Infantry, Hardy’s Brigade 1st Battalion, A.N.V, to provide a living history testament to the men and women who lived during the Civil War time period.
The company is family oriented and does authentic and modern camping. (Authentic camping preferred.)
It camps from Friday to Sunday and all members must be in civil war uniform or period attire all weekend.
The company also portrays 3rd US Infantry, one of the regular army units in the war and which also served for a period of time in Florida.
We make every effort to honor the civil war soldier and his life in the army to the best of our ability.
The company participates in reenactments in Florida and in Georgia from September to May. It also participates in festivals and memorial services in Central Florida as well as other locations in Florida.
Currently seeking individuals to join our unit, male or female. (females welcome to portray soldiers as well as seamstress and laundresses.)
We have extra uniforms & equipment to let you use to try the event to see how you like it.
